Yeah, you are confunion. Is that something related to a onion?

None the less, I am refering to a reverse cut front 60, upside down in the rear? Or however that works.

just like you said, works great but that extra steering wheel sometimes gets in the way. <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0"> Hell, i have enough trouble aiming my Jeep with just the fronts steering, if I add the rears into it, i'd be all over the trail <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

What are the axle options for something like this.

Ofcourse they all have to be fronts, but basically only the Dana 60 is used? And it has to be Reverse Cut, or what?

Any center section would work, but the knuckles and joints really need to be 60 size.

What about legalities? Is this something that can be done for a trail-only rig, or would it be possible for a street-rig too?

My understanding is that rear steering is not street legal. I bet you could get away with it if you put some kind of pin in the steering to making unisable during street use.

The auto makers are putting 4 wheel steering on stuff in the next few years.

My bud Gordy 'Brushbuster'(he has rear strg.) was doing a massive smoking/spinning donut at the main corner in murphy nc (tellico) one sat. night. A cop pulls up....Cop asks him "were you leaving town when you started doing that" ? ...Gordy says "Yes sir"
Cop says "you get back to leaving town now"...

It's a RR60 with coil-overs 4-links and airbag bumpstop/overloads...he made it.

I have seen a few in truck in Penn. at the 4WD Jamboree.....You can make 1 if you have the ability or you can buy one $$$. I might be making one here soon when I get my new "project" done... If you were to run a front 60 "reverse rotation" you might have a problem oiling the pinion bearing <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0"> unles it was a "trailer" rig.... <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0">

That's why I am asking what axles people were using, because although it is a trailer queen, I would want to be able to drive it 2 hours to a location if need be @ 60mph.

You don't put the axle in upside down. You take a front axle, and retube it (centered) and bolt it in. You can use a rev cut, or standard cut. For steering, you run hydro steering with a electric hydro pump with joystick in the cab.

I use 2.5 fronts. The front used the orbital valve set up, very bad idea. I told him that we should leave it alone. but any way the rear was a simple valve and ram. The electric idea was scrapped for money problems.

Mines a 70 narrowed to 62 inches. Ram steering with a manual control valve. <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">

don't know the set up nor have i seen it work on the trail. but forklifts at my work are set like this but they have a three way switch one steers like normal front tires turn only. second the rear steers only. the third is front and rear steer at the same time. this set up rocks you get into places that would be impossible with front only steering. <IMG SRC="smilies/fj.gif" border="0">

I had 4 wheel steering in my Prelude, I think it's legal.
