now i know this has probably come up like 5 billion and a half times. but i'm twinsticking the 205. one of those little freeze plug things blew out when i smacked it. where can i get replacements? will 2 factory 205 shifers work for the sticks? besides those this looks like an easy job, minus getting the pins that hold the shaft to the shift rods to break free.

any chance i could use a gm style shift kit for the twin stick part?

Call Kyle at Northwest Fab for a twinstick cable shifter it is definately the way to go and you can mount the shifter box almost near anywhere you want the number is 1-250-248-6024 he can also give you instructions to modify one shift rail to allow front wheel drive only as well.

i already pulled the shift rail and notched it out... i'm not exacly sure i did it right though. but its hard to tell cause it's really hard to pull the rails out by hand and push them back in. the only way i can do it easily is by taking the ball and spring out. i was looking at the twinsticks they have through tellico or bronco graveyard. any idea on price for the one your talking about?

i got a little bit of confusion here. i got everything working right and somewhat backtogether but my problems were this. i was havin a hard time shifting the longer shaft around, so i pulled it all the way and after smashing the pushpin thing through i lost it and couldn't find it anywhere inside the case, then my magnet fell down and i couldn't retreive it cause the big gear was in the way. so i got upset and pulled the gear outta there, in the process all 30 or so of those little needle bearings fell out. now, the only blow up diagrams or pictures i could find were for a gm, which look like they have just one large needle bearing instead of 2 small ones side by side. my confusion is this.

first of all, i lost one of the damned needle bearings so where can i find just those bearings. 5.50x 13.5mm. the other thing is, do the bearings get seperated or are they right on top of each other. i can't really tell if that washer thing that can't come off the shaft is supposed to be in the middle of them or right next to the gear. any idears? or perhaps good blow up diagrams where i could tell better?

the gm and ford have the same internals to an extent the only difference is the casting and the position of the rail and as i do not know quite what gear you are talking about im going to assume its the big gear that slides over that the front out put (i think) if that is the case then there are two layers of needles i believe seperated by one washer. And the twin stick i am talking about would cost $329 i think or close to that but its a great kit each piece is lazer cut and welded to gether comes with a shifter boot they even offer a triple stick shifter if you are interested in their blackbox planetary gear box which is amazing gear reduction between the tranny and tcase and its damn near bullet proof. Now i recommend strongly that you call Kyle at northwest fab for the twin stick and for your 205 problem he knows those t-cases like the back of his hand. And check out the website for prices at www.northwestfab.com and call him at 1-250-248-6024

will 2 factory 205 shifers work for the sticks?

It will work fine. All I did was grab a spare 205 shifter assembly from my parts file it worked with very minor modification. The links are easy to make yourself as well.
