: Suzuki Pickup? Turbo?

Hey!

I just spotted what appears to be a Samurai pickup. Looks like it came that way, not custom work. It also has a "Turbo" emblem on the fender, right below where the Samurai emblem usually is.

Before I approach the owner about it, I thought I'd see what I can learn about it.

Is this a foreign model that someone could have imported into the US? Anyone have any info about it?

Thanks!
Richard

Never brought a turbo version to NA, US may have seen a few SJ-410K's (K is pickup model) Canada saw a bunch of 410K's and a handful of 413K's.

I believe Grimbo (sp?) Graham Sampson has a heavily modified one. My uncle owns a rust free 410K in very northern Quebec, ie above the tree line.

Mike Strickland has a good webpage with pics of them.

Where are the PICS???:D
I suppose someone could have put a VW 1.6LTD in a rare pickup & come up with a sticker....

Anyone know if they are still producing the Samurai pickup anywhere in the world? I know they were making convert's with a Pugeot TD in Spain ... Man, a new TD pickup would be

Too Cool. I love all of the different sami variants I wish the US would have gotten them.

Thanks for the info!

From the pics you guys posted, this rig doesn't look like the older (?) models - it doesn't have the ribs on the doors.

I should be driving past it again Thursday evening, so I'll see if I can remember to take the digital camera with me and take some pics thru the fence. But I probably won't be able to post them until next week. If anyone is around at the shop where it's sitting, I'll see what I can find out about it, and see if it can be purchased.

Later!
Richard

Here at Chile Suzuki sells a Samurai 2002 pick up, equipped with a Peugeot 1.9 turbo diesel engine.
There are produced at Santana plant in Spain.

Last year ended the import of LWD model, equipped with resine top.

There is a address to Spanish page

There is a link to strange Samurai models, including pick ups

I've got one and they really kick ass compared to the shorter wheelbase.I know of two ther ones in my small town but they want huge dollars for them.I nearly chocked when the guy said how much he wanted for his that had been sitting for at least nine years and was in moderate shape. His dad is used regularly and hauls a huge gooseneck trailer around his farm.I paid 800 bucks for mine and have beaten the crap out of it and it still won't die.Very cool rigs to own if you want to build something radical.I will eventually but for now it sits.
