Well just thought I'd start a new thread rather then bump the old one back up. I'm looking for a fleece type outerlayer for work wear. About the only thing I've found is the Spyder Top Shelf jacket. There are a few others out there that are similar but nothing thats available in a XS size.

Any comments? Decent gear? Anything better or better prices?

 whys that funny, I'm a small fawker. 5'2" and 110lbs.

No, wimmens stuff usually doesn't fit, they have tits and I don't. Kids stuff sometimes will be they usually have crappy gear for kids.

And I eat lots of sandmichs and everything else. Just doesn't stick.

not sure what type of "work" it is you do, but you can't go wrong with a soft shell jacket. unless a lot of moisture is coming out of the sky or the wind is really whipping, i rarely wear my gore-tex hardshell anymore. my old fleece jacket sits in the closet unworn as well since it's really only an insulating layer and not an outer layer. soft shells bridge the gap nicely.

i picked up a Cloudveil Serendipity a few years back and it is a hell of a jacket. Only gripe is it doesn't have handwarmer pockets as it is designed for backcountry skiing; where it excels since i wear gloves. it has two HUGE chest pocket/vents that are designed to stash skins or gloves.

I was going to suggest the same jacket. I'm on my third Mtn Hardwear now (outgrew the others), and have a fourth that should be here tomorrow. :D

Your link sucks. fixed.

I had looked at that jacket but SM is all they have for sizes. It might work depending on the fit but I hate to order and send stuff back. I'm think a soft shell will work although it's suppose to be fleece or a sythentic pile fiber, but since the outer shell is more of a boned fleece I think it will be alright.

I think the Spyder is a soft shell type as well. And yeah JHT3 you pretty much nailed what I'm looking for. Something that will work when I don't need the goretex outer.

Mountain Hardwear's small is pretty damn small. Might want to find a store local to you that would let you try them on. :flipoff2:

these are cheaper than the one you listed, and we beat the crap out of them. Well worth it if you ask me. I agree they run "small". I will search for a store for you, or buy and return?

But your ass looks good in them

Warning about fleece outerwear.
DO NOT SHOOT A 44 MAG REVOLVER SITTING DOWN, RESTING YOUR ELBOWS ON YOU THIGHS FOR A REST

because the flame from the sides of the revolver will set you favorite pair of camo fleece out wear pants on fire. You cannot see the fire, except you will feel it through your long johns. It will start warm and you will think "Hmmmm, nice and war.... AHHHH FAWK I'M ON FIRE!" as you look down and see the fleece metling away like a light snow being hit with a blow torch.

You will then drop the 44 mag in the dirt and proceed to break dance like Bobby Brown having an epileptic seizure to the great ammusment of your two friends.

After you get the fire out, your pants will be fleeceless with a hard spot that you can feel the slightest breeze blow through.

Not that I would know anything about this from personal experience, just something I read on the net or in a magazine or heard on a bus. :rasta:

Yeah well I did check out Scheels as they are supposed to carry Mountain Hardware and Spyder but they didn't have either model and they only carry Mediums and up. So I'm heading close to Leesburg, VA for two weeks of training so if I have time I may try to look out there and see if I can find anything otherwise just order and try when I get back.
