I've got a Chevy 5.0L TBI engine swapped in my Cruiser.

I currently have a problem with the RPM's being about 1200-1300 and not being able to lower them <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

The throttle cable is not bound. The wiring harness is stock as is the ECM. I've replaced all the sensors/controls. I've monitored the sensors/controls with a reader to ensure they are working correctly. I have no error codes. The timing is right on.

But, I've got a HUGE exhaust leak. When I replace the exhaust(and thus fix this problem), will my RPM's drop? Or am I looking at another problem?

Sound more like a Vaccum leak. Just think of it as a IAC stuck open <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Yep, vaccuum leak comes to mind, a leaking throttle body Base gasket will cause it. Spray it down with carb cleaner while it's running to find the leak.

Bingo! Throttle body gasket is the first thing that comes to mind on that motor. When you have the body off might as well clean the throttle body while your there. Spray it until its CLEAN!
