stupid question,
can i just gut the vacuum crap off of a vacuum front dana 30 and just put a normal shaft in there or do i have to do other mods such as carrier. im trying to buy some time until i find a wagoneer 44

I was unable to get an answer to the same question so I went with the Posi Loc for a year ,then sold it to someone in the club for $50.Bought me time to start my 60s project.I also had the cast fork from a broken 44 I had on my side yard.

You will need to add a passenger side inner axle diff seal - p/n CR11800 (Jeep/Mopar p/n is 4874477). Use a 95+ XJ or TJ shafts. They use the larger 297/760 "dana 44" u-joints. ...you can use the older XJ one piece shafts, but they use the smaller 260 u-joints
