: Best place to get a 90/110 hood / bonnet in NA
HandBuilt 11-28-2007, 06:42 PM :mad3::mad3::mad3:
Hood flew open on my 109 tonight. I was passing someone at about 80 mph and the darn thing flew right open, hit the windshield and folded like wet newspaper. New is 700$ from RN. Shipping from the UK is probably retarded.
I know this should be in the classifieds, but anyone have any recommendations, or already shipped stuff like a hood over? I don't care about little dings and dents, but it would have to be relatively straight once here.
I have a ratchet strap holding it down now :mad3:
ABrooks 11-28-2007, 06:57 PM RDS or the guy in florida that advertises on d-90.com.
Serious One 11-28-2007, 09:08 PM I was wondering how the heck you were going to fit a 110/90 hood onto a 109, then I looked at your name...I figured that you probably knew what you were doing.
Call Wise Owl, aren't they in BC? I dunno what kind of an import tarriff/duty/tax thing you might have bringing in parts from the states.
Otherwise, call George at RDS. He'll have one. Probably one with dings that only you would appreciate too.

The fact that he was going 80 in a series and passing someone didn't lead you to that conclusion? :laughing:

I've gone 80 and passed someone in my Series, and with a proper Series bonnet.:D

Not pulling a trailer you haven't :flipoff2:
The worst part about this is it's totally my fault. The latch was acting funny (took a couple of tries to close) and the safety catch wasn't installed. Looking back it's pretty much easy to see that I'm a compleat idiot.
jimfoo 11-29-2007, 07:15 AM The optional lock hasp, like what is on the seat box lid, has saved my ass many a time. No, I haven't pulled a trailer yet, but I bet when I get my next engine in, I will be able to. Though I don't know how safe I'd feel pulling one at 80 behind an 88".

JasperG 12-07-2007, 10:59 PM Stephen Peters got me one for my hybrid. Shipping from the UK sucked but it was in great shape. He's the dude in FL Aaron is refering to. Hes on D-90.com frequently and I think he still has a 90 hood left. Good guy but give him some time as he should be a Dad any minute. Gordo
