: What kind of fluid for diffs and tcase

Like it says. I got the new gears in both the diffs and transfercase and was curious what most of you gung run in your transfer case and diffs.

80w or 80w-90. dump some lucas oil stabilizer in there too.

well, if you ended up installing the aluminum 3rds you may as well not put any oil in them at all. the gears will outlast the thirds even if run dry, and it won't make such a mess on the trail or in your driveway when they split apart like humpty dumpty's fragile ass. :shaking:

oops, sorry peewee. i thought you were one of the idjits from the other newb thread doin' all the jaw-jackin' about how they're running aluminum thirds. well, i'm leaving that post up for them to read anyway, because i've been restraining myself too much. :flipoff2:

git some goddamn gear oil. not motor oil, not transmission fluid, not power steering fluid, not antifreeze, but get the shite that's name sounds like what it is good for: gear-mo-friggin-oil.

and:
dump some lucas oil stabilizer in there too.
