Nope, knucks and shafts don't swap. D44 TTB parts from (including) the spindle out will swap, the spindle may be about .25"s off in length, but it should be doable. TTB shafts are kind of a hermaphrodite. There is a slip yoke in the long shaft, and the short will not be the right length. The only thing keeping you from using the stubs, is their length will likely be a smigin short as well. You can use the R&P and carrier though.

It'll all bolt right on. Wickeds10 just forgot about the hybrid bearings to do so. :shaking:

This ought to be fun.

Just look for a Chevy Dana 44 front axle ( easier to find & usually cheaper ) for parts, try to find one with flat top knuckles, if you want to go with high steer. If you want to keep you're 5 lug pattern you just need to use the Chevy calipers, backing plates & outer axle stubs, get Chevy small bearing spindles ( if the axle don't already have them ), a set of Ford hubs, rotors & bearings. You'll still need Ford inner axle shafts.

the spindle will bolt on? i remember thinking that they wouldnt swap... diffrent bolt pattern? maybe not, i just remember it being a bitch to try and find one for my TTB when the bearings spun on it...

I am 99% sure that the spindle swaps. It has been a long time since I had anything with a D44, TTB or otherwise. IIRC, the spindle bolt pattern is the same, the back side of the TTB spindle though, where it fits through the knuckle, is defenitely not long enough to go through both the caliper bracket and knuckle on the solid version. That is also why I am thinking the lengths are a bit different. I am by no means 100% sure, but pretty close...

A Ford solid D44 uses a large 5 bolt spindle pattern while TTB uses a small 6 bolt pattern that is the same as the GM 10bolt/D44 spindle pattern.

The short side inner will swap from chevy to ford, but the long side chevy is too long.

thanks for all the help, but I now have another question will 2wd ttb knuckes work because I need to drive this truck everyday and was wondering if 2wd knuckles will work while I take the ttb apart and rebuild it with new bearings and all?

thanks
Dustin

Nope, balljoints are tiny on a 2wd compared to a 4wd. while the spacing may or maynot be the same, the taper and diameter are off.
