just went up there yesterday with high hopes. still closed until further notice. i talked to a ranger, he said they were worried about erosion control at this point. he did not have any info on when it would be re-opened.

I was told it was going to re-open after the first rain. There is also a rumor that they may let us cut a new trail in exchange for removing some debris. Just a rumor at this point. Keep us posted if you hear it's re-opened. I'll do the same.

Sounds good I would be willing to take out trash for exchange in wheeling some new trails.

i spoke with Richard Tull on sat. morning. he said they were planning on opening corral canyon this weekend Dec 15. anyone on his e-mail list will get an e-mail with when it is open. he also said he could use some help cleaning up some stuff and input/help cutting some new trails. it could be a good opportunity to have an influence in getting the kind of trails we would like up there. there is one large area where we could put a trail anywhere and over anything. could be fun.

It's NOT a rumor about the new trail. Our club (TDS) has been working with
them in mapping out a new trail through the burned area. No route is fixed
yet, but it's in process.

How do you get on that guys Email list? Sounds like a good guy to know. Is he the local "4x4 friendly" Ranger that everybody talks about?

If it's open 9:00am sounds great. We'll be in a white & black 06 LJ on 35's and a red LJ on 35's as well. Hope it opens. I'm in need of a "Bronco Peak" run. I've never done that trail in the daylight.:smokin:

Great I hope so.....That would make two of us, I've ran sidewinder and I know Bronco peak is right by there.

I just got an e-mail from Richard Tull and he said that Corral Canyon will be open this weekend. It's still cold up here at 9 am but I have a good jacket. I struggle a little on Bronco Peak (open front and rear) but I'm game. Ken

Actually we'll be there around 10:00 am. I think we'll also have at least one more rig with us. Hope to see you there. I think we'll be on CB channel 12.

How about we just make it 10:30am that way we can give everyone a chance to get going in the morning. Say we meet at the Trail right off buckman springs rd by where the closed signs used to be. Or we could meet at the rest stop???

As far as running without lockers I couldn't say if thats a good idea or not.....I ran sidewinder and I thought it was pretty easy but people say Bronco Peak is a little harder. However I'm sure between all the jeeps we could be able to help you get through any tuff spots. Maybe if someone who has ran the trail could give some advise that would be great.

Other wise lets say 10:30am right off the buckman springs rd by where the closed signs used to be.

I've done BP several times without lockers and it's not a good idea. I think the only time I didn't get damage to my jeep was when I wenched myself over the hardest spot. It's alot harder than Sidewinder. I have 33 inch tires and I drag alot. Also full size trucks won't fit.

I've wheeled with rigs that were without lockers on BP. I don't recommend it. Especially since we don't know the condition that the trail is in. I'd bet that since the trail has not been trveled in a while it will be pretty challenging. Can't wait!:D

I agree- running that trail w/o lockers slows everyone else down and plugs up the trail with broken down rigs.

It'll be nice to run the trail again. It's nice not to have to drive 3+ hours to get a decent trail.

As stated below by Richard Tull (NFS Ranger), it is critical that everyone stay on designated trails and avoid any CLOSED areas.

It sure was fun being able to wheel close to home again. Meeting Quick99 was cool too. We all has some very capable rigs out there. We'll have to do it again soon. I think Quick99 has some pics, so lets see 'em.
