Words cannot express my gratitude to everyone who partcipated in the first Friends of Eldorado workparty.

(82 people plus the FS crew!)

You all dedicated a Saturday away from your familes, some of you driving hundreds of mile (esp. the Santa Cruz Crew!) to come and work on part of the forest that 99% of you have never been to, and will never go to again...

That is testament to the fact that the OHV crowd cares about the ENTIRE forest, not just our 4x4 trails. THAT is the message that we have sent to the Forest Service and the public with this workparty.

The amount of work that was done by all was absolutley AMAZING. The Forest Service under-estimated us on the brush removal. They ending up breaking 2 Chippers. The first time I cam down the road after sending the crews out, I could not believe the amount of brush you had already cut!

The trash dump we cleaned up farther up North/South road was EMBARRASING. You would not believe the amount of trash that was dumped. :mad3: Eric's crew did an EXCELLENT job! FYI, we got a registration number off a Licence plate, and a last name from a school ID card, those were handed over to the FS.... Someone will be punished.

Unseen by many of the other crews, 2 crews removed 3 abandoned cars, a water heater, a massive wire, and another garabe dump. That garabage dump included a raw butterball turkey, and get this: bags of human waste! Looks like the anti-recreationists that poop in a bag and hike it out are not really hiking it out. :mad3:

To the anti-recreationists: These garbage dumps and abandoned cars are NOT left by the OHV crowd, we are the ones cleaning it up. We do not want that in our forest.

The thanks-yous that the FOE leadership crew owes are endless. The amount of work done by you guys was absolutely AMAZING. Here are just a few thank-yous, but YOU ALL DESERVE A STANDING OVATION!

Del: FOE would never have gotten off the ground if it was not for you. Your input, guidence, leadership and training was invaluable. Greg Mumm, if you are reading this, give the man a raise. Seriously. Oh and Stacie: thanks for taking the pics after my camera broke!

Randii: Dude! You are another key person in the success of FOE! Thanks for keeping me grounded and thank you for your wisdom!

To the Forest Service: Sorry for giving you so much work! We look forward to working with you in the future to take care of our forest. Thank you for also making this happen and run smooth. District Ranger Nelson came out to the workparty on his BIRTHDAY! :smokin: I hope you guys were impressed.

To the Rubicon Rockheads: Awesome job on the food! Dale...god, I do not know what to say other than: :smokin: and  You guys are all amazing.

To the Santa Cruz crowd: I cannot believe you guys made that drive. THANK YOU!

To the Cameron Park Crawlers: Thanks for staying later and helping with more cutting! It's YOU GUYS that the baton will be passed of to in the future. It's great to see the younger crowd get involved.

To the ROCK ZOMBIES: Here's exactly what I said as I was driving down the route we were cutting brush off of and passed each group:

Markers 1-2 "Wow!"
Markers 2-3 "These guys are doing an AWESOME job!
Markers 3-4 "Oh, my God! Look how much they got cut"
Markers 4-6 "LOL! Look at this! the forest service is gonna be chipping for a week!
When I finally got to the ZOMBIES: "What the F@WK???!!! HOLY SH@*!!!! They must be hiding some chainsaws somewhere!"

The amount of brush you guys cut was AMAZING.

More thanks needs to go to:

1. Our $500 donor....(we gotta see if they want to be named)

2. CRAWL Magazine Donated free mags!

3. Pirate4x4.com for stickers. We woulda had a Pirate banner to hang, but Camo didn't wanna give us one. LOL! :flipoff2:

EVERYONE did a wonderful Job! I know I left out a ton of names....but from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all.

Do you know if they finished chipping all the cut brush? When working I noticed a couple piles of cut brush that had been there for a while. I was thinking those piles were from a FS brush cutting session and they could not finish chipping what they had cut?

It would suck to go back up there and see that there is a bunch of brush piles still laying on the side of the road cause the FS didn't get to chipping it.

They broke or jammed both chippers on Saturday. Duane said they were going send a crew back out this week to finish it up.

We wont say our part was easy, but without the support of everyone that attended, our work would have been for nothing. Thank you to everyone that didnt know us, but drove long distances and gave up there saturday to spend the day with us doing what we all know was for a good cause.

I wouldn't mind doing some more work out in that area in the future. Del and I took a diffrent road out than the one we came in on and saw another trashed car and some other roads that could use some help. Plus I wouldn't mind exploring the area more. There's some nice camp grounds out there and alot of roads for motorcycles and OHV's to checkout.

A weekend campout and work day would be nice! You guy's did a great job on setting this up and it was great to meet everyone!!!!

The FOE leadership crew has been in contact with the FS on almost a daily basis. The FS WILL take care of the cut brush.

On another side note: The abandoned cars have been hauled out , and all the trash has been dumped. (A big thanks to Eric, who unloaded all of it at the dumps by himself)

Would you mind e-mailing that info to the FOE e-mail addy?

Route number if you can find it and/or approx location?

The car was just off the paved road a few miles from hwy 88. That was the first time I've been out there but, I'll check with Del and maybe he has a road name that we can get a better location for you! Or call Del if you want it quicker:D

My best directions to it would be:
When we left the FOE work site we made a "right" and went up the road headed the back way to HWY 88, when the road ends into a tee you make a left to get to HWY 88 and the car was on the leftside of the road about 100' off the paved road. It was a white import car.

EDIT: E-mail is down at work but I can still post here ? I don't know about this place!!!
