: Who makes the "best" hi-steer 44 arms?
afecko 10-31-2001, 10:41 AM I've gotten conflicting reports. I would go with Parts Mike's but they don't have the proper angle built into the arm. I'm using TRE's, so Avalanche Eng won't work. Anybody used Roggy's or Tri-County's? Are they set up with the TRE mounting pad machined horizontally? Advice?
And let me be the frst to say, I know, it's not a fawkin 60.

How mucha are you asking Jimmy?
RustoleumWhite 10-31-2001, 11:38 AM get a hold of Ben W, moderator for the IH part of the board. He made some killer arms for me. Angle cut, for TRE's. He can set you up with rods and TRE's as well. As well as drill the knuckle.
not to mention he's a cool guy

afecko 10-31-2001, 12:44 PM Just got off the phone with Tri-County, they want 300 for two arms and hardware. Ouch!!!!
Mike wants $212 with hardware, but again no flat spot.
Can't get a hold of Roggy at his shop, do I have the number right? 626-9451?

pcorssmit 10-31-2001, 12:56 PM Avalanche's web site says they now have arms that accept TREs.

BigBadBob 10-31-2001, 01:34 PM Won't parts mike work with you to make something custom up? He made mine bent at 15 degrees so that my tierod would clear my springs. They're not flat but that doesn't matter very much for my application.
Charly 10-31-2001, 02:23 PM The arms I got from Bob Roggy are the bent arms (to clear my springs), the tre surface is "horizontal".
Hypoid Drive 10-31-2001, 02:29 PM Ive done alot of searching and the best arms for the dana 44 that I have ever seen are the OTT raised steering arms the are perfectly horizontal for tre. , they are billet steel not bent as the rest of the raised arms are. Excellent quaility but costly at 310.00 for both w/ no mounting hardware but you get what you pay for?

I sure hate to steer anyone away from Roggy's shop, but if you cant get a hold of him, you could call Scott Arentz @ Extreme Gear, he had some steering arms with machined 13 degree angles at his shop. I have no idea how much though. (916)990-0419
Lance 10-31-2001, 04:18 PM Roggy is at SEMA.
afecko 10-31-2001, 04:24 PM Extreme Gear billet arms with flat spot and hardware: $406.
Damn, no Roggy till next week I guess. He doesn't do the e-mail thing, huh?

Last time I was up at the shop I remember hearing that they were making them.
G.C. Bandit 10-31-2001, 06:04 PM I have the extreme gear arms havent had a chance to use them yet but all ive heard is good news!
Hypoid Drive 10-31-2001, 06:08 PM does extreme gear have a web site?
BRUISER-42 10-31-2001, 06:42 PM Hey XJS, the Avalanche Engineering arms are $98.00, accept tie rods ends and have the angle built in.
4x4man 10-31-2001, 08:03 PM i got a roggy arm. when i took my knuckle to get the holes drilled and tapped,,,the machinist grabbed up the steering arm and studied it carefully. he was like whoever built this is damn good. the one i have is a 1in stepped up arm. it was $145 shipped here to georgia,,,which is not bad.

Those are OTT's for $310/pair.
Anybody got pics of the avalanche arms??
jeepgod 11-01-2001, 05:04 AM well.. what i did was use the parts mike arms.. and it just rubbed the springs.. so i went to the machine shop and had them make a 1/4" spacer for under the arms.. cost 40 bucks for two of them.. raised it up just right.. works awesome.. last long time.. and all for $229 for arms and mounting hardware to doorstep.. plus the $40 bucks for spacers.. is still way cheaper than anything so far that i have seen..
