I replaced my Craftsmans with SK's earlier in the year. My experience is they are MUCH better than Sears at least Sears current tools. The standard ratchets aren't my favorite, but I got some SK palm controls clearance at Sears.com, and they're cool IMO.

Awesome compared to harbor Freight's sockets, crappy compared to Snap-On's sockets.

I use my SK sockets everyday. I wrench for a living and they stand up to the abuse i give them. Just my 0.02

I was thinking about getting a set of 1/4 in sockets to replace my stolen Craftsman since Sears turned to Crap.

I have a full set of MAC 3/8 and Vintage Craftsman 1/2. The stupid thieves missed those.

We have almost all SK tools. My dad uses them for repairing his equipment and we have never had a problem with them. The only thing we have done is blew up a 1/2" ratchet when we put a 5' pipe on it and a 280# guy put everything he had into. Other then that the tools have taken everything we can throw at them. I will probably get a set when I get out of school.

Look on Amazon.com for some pretty good deals.

I have several sets of SK impact sockets and havent had a problem with any of them. I used them everyday when I was a tech. The quality is very good and the price is less than Snappy or Mac.

They're about as good as the old craftsman sockets were, way better than the new ones. I'm not a huge fan of them, i just cant stand how their ratchets work.

i just cant stand how their ratchets work.

x2 All my ratchets are snap-on. I cant stand using other ratchets that are clumsy and have loose tolerances.

There ratchets are junk, but there sockets are pretty good. I have a 1/4" & 3/8" set for my shop at home, but Snap-On for work. They do just fine and they have lifetime warranty so I just bring em' to my tool lady if they break. I like em'.

I've used them for years, never had a problem. The ratchets are strong but maybe a bit clumsy. I've worn out a few screwdrivers and they gladly exchange them.
