What does it matter as long as we do what we can? You keep posting negative stuff in every Tellico thread and fingers will start pointing at you, in another thread you have said that none of the letters that we wrote in to the FS mattered. You were joking, right?
Who are you and why do you care how much trash I have picked up there? If I lived close enough, I would be there every day.

Listen, if you think the USFS did not have a planned course of action in place before ANY letters were written, you are naive. Places that are under fire by organizations such as the SELC do not remain open because you and/or 15,000 of your buddies write letters saying "Please Keep Tellico Open". They remain open because they fall into a window of operable measure. You evidently do not understand the political red tape and/or procedures when it comes to such issues. Do I love Tellico? Absolutely, as it is my home turf and am there at minimum 10 times per year. Do I think the USFS has been cornered by the SELC? You better believe it! Will I continue to support Tellico? Again, absolutely. You still never answered my question. How many times have you been to Tellico and better yet, how many times have you offered to help maintain or clean trails?

It's all good. :smokin: I just get antsy about people like S10 acting like they know what is going on, but don't, especially when he posts in all the Tellico threads but has probably only been once or twice and has probably never been there to support it or offer clean up services. Trust me, a fair portion of my cash goes to organizations that support the trail systems. :)

Also, since Tellico is officially closed after tomorrow for 3 months, I am guessing the next clean up day will be in early April. SFWDA will have info on their site about cleanup days.

What are you "trying" to do? Maybe I will understand your post better if you can explain.I tried to drum up a little support here as soon as Heather posted the closures. I crossposted in a couple of forums to try to help get the word out. Every little bit helps, you don't hear anyone from the SFWDA complaining about it.

Not quite true. But............my intentions are to let you know that the USFS was not asking us off roaders for opinions on what they should do in this situation. They are under fire by the SELC and no amount of letters from concerned wheelers (me included) will help resolve an environmental issue. Are you really that naive?

Now, if they were threatening to close Tellico because of trash concerns or issues based around irresponsibility, written letters may have been in order.

EVERY letter counts. Are you really naive enough to believe that if someone says that it's not having an effect that it must be so?

So all your support is done from a keyboard then. That is all I was asking, but you still havent answered my question.
1. How many times have you been to Tellico?
2. How many clean up and/or maintenance days have you attended.
Just curious.

Again, you evidently do not understand the elementary dynamics of the situation at hand. If you were threatened to be sued by your neighbors because you were cranking 1500 watts of Hank Williams Jr. every night at midnight, no amount of letters from your supporters would change the fact that you are in violation of a local noise ordinance.

Just curious. At Tellico, I haven't been to a single cleanup day. Me and some local guys have picked up trash on Sumter National Forest but we didn't come online and brag about it and see if we had cleaned up more than anybody else.
If you have helped out at Tellico, that's good. Just don't act like if you do more than someone else that even the little stuff doesn't count. I am through with you... if you have a problem with me we will be at Tellico on opening day. Don't try anything stupid either, the town of Murphy doesn't need it, the SFWDA, Tellico doesn't need it and most of all our sport doesn't need it.
