Well we are headed up to Reiter for some wheeling this weekend and was wondering if anyone wanted to join us/ show us Liberty Lake trail and they were pretty fun but we wouldn't mind seeing some other ones. But if your interested in coming either make some plans here or give me a call Sat morning (208)596-6350 Phil.

How hardcore of wheeling are you planning on? I'd be tempted to go, but not really looking for body damage this weekend. What are you gonna be driving? This is what I have...

WE are heading up in a XJ on 35s and a Tracker on 31" LTBs. Not to familiar with all the trails up there. Are there many fullsize friendly trails up there?

For full-sizes you can run Issabelle (I believe thats the trail you are reffering too, never hear of Liberty Lake trail at Reiter).

check out nw-wheelers.com for more info and write-ups on Reiter. There is also a decent trail map now on reitertrailwatch.org

It should be nice and wet with all the rain. Just remember to stay on the trail don't make by-passes because we are trying hard to keep it open for years to come.

Whats the problem with the map? Let me guess your a W.H.O.R.E and you think they ripped it off the whore group? :shaking: :flipoff2:

Its close enough that you can use it to find what trail is where and how to get from one trail to another.

I live right by there and know pretty much all the trails. Isabelle is about the only trail and i garuntee you break sumthing trying to go up it!

Kepp your fullsize in the mud where it belongs! IF you want to wheel up here in a fullsize count on lots of body damage and lots of people hatin on you!!!!

Well I don't know about fullsize friendly but there where some bad ass trails up there. Sac up was my favorite. Only two small dents from the trip and even the sidekick on 31" LTBs made it everywhere. Thanks to the skid plating on the bottom. All in all a pretty fun trip.

I see pics of driving up to the stairstep, but none on it, alway's makes for a good picture of stock based fig's picking tire a few feet.

BTW Isabelle is fully a fullsize freindly trail, Breaking part's? The only place I see that being possible is up past the bridge and even at that it's not that bad, I've been up there with a hummer before, it's amazing how a trail you don't even consider as being in the same neighborhood as narrow become's just that with one of those thing's in there. On that trail IMO there are only 2 spot's I would even consider an obstacle in a stockish rig up until the bridge.

I'm not going to debate RTW, they do trail clean ups and maintaince so in my eyes its all good just like anyother group (WHORE, SNORT, the list goes on).

As for the map, ofcourse it looks like it got ripped off someone else...its a map. My thomas guide map has the same cities plotted in the same spot as my $5 map from 7-11...guess that no-name map ripped thomas guide off.

Looks like you guys had a good trip, any more pictures? What'd you think of the Index Wall overlook...stunning huh? :smokin:

there are fullsize trails in reiter pit sac up can be ran in a fullsize with minor problems. The back door trail wth no problems. Or how but the rocky road that is full size friendly. Issabelle is not that hard like darius said only time your gonna break is after the bridge and thats IF you break. Run your fullsize where ever you want it's your rig

Yes that is index below. This is the top of index wall at the end of the index wall trail. There is a small hike to the overlook but it is really worth it. I have been there once before but it was all cloady. This time I had to let go of the camera and sit in the tracker until they got back because I sprained my ankle. I was really bummed that I missed the overlook in the clear. I will post up some more of the pics.

Yeah, it's been quite a while since I've been there, about 4~5 years. Seems like everytime I would go there, there would be another part of it closed down. I've always tried to pick up as much trash as I could while wheeling/dirt biking there, but I'm just one person, so I know it's not much, but every little bit helps. Plus with the clean-up programs going on, I hope reiter pit can stay open for a long time to come. Can't wait to go back.

I did the Issabelle trail in the truck ('89 K5) pictured in the second post of this thread with no real issues. I only got one little dent, but it was a mistake on my part because I couldn't see how close I was to a large rock due to it being night time (Easily avaidable obstacle in the daylight). Not to mention it was also raining. All my truck has is a 3/4T axle swap with a rear Detroit (14B FF), open 10B front, 4" all spring lift, and 35" boggers. In the daylight, and on a dry day, I am fully confident I could get a K5 with open front and rear 1/2T diffs on A/T 35's up the trail with no major issues, breakage, or body damage. You just have to be a competent driver.
