I am swapping my 6 lug D44 to 8 lug. I got the caliper brackets and spindles off a 3/4 ton. I need new calipers and rotors however. Is there any MAJOR advantage to running aftermarket brakes like stainless steel brakes or is the Autozone brand good enough for our applications.

Depending on what year Dana 44, all you need is the hub, rotor, and caliper mount, the spindles on most are the same, except the early ones, the calipers are all the same, althought you'll prolly have to grind to clear 15" rims. I usually run lifetime NAPA stuff, I figure I've got 3/4 ton truck brakes on a Jeep, and I swap my pads for new ones once a year, so who needs fancy high zoot aftermarket pads.
