I have a 1996 Ford Bronco
my tailgate is jamming up lately alot, I dont want to just take it to the ford dealer and get ripped off. The left side latch seems to be jammed, the right side might be fine. I had to push the tailgate latch in, then Id hear a click or pop, now I dont even hear it at all. Please reply I use my truck to haul alot of tools such as my dewalt miter saw and stuff cause Im working on a project lately.

Thanks
Mike

I'll start by saying that I'm not real familier with the big Bronco's but have you pulled the inspection plate and look at the linkage? Open it up and if everything looks ok, use a good spray lubricant on all the joints and latch mechanism. Should help to free it up.

Yup,
Get some White lithium greese in an arsol can and go nuts with it all over the latches and what not

Or you can do what i did with my 96 bronco when the rear window would not work and all the other little shit happened, Trade the FAWKER in on something else.

Had same problem with my 92. Pulled the access cover, got the gate to open. There was a bracket that had a tack weld that broke. Friend re-welded it. Works great.

While your in there clean out all the crap at the bottom and make sure it drains so your tailgate doesn't rust out. Some guys just drill holes at the bottom of the tailgate to expidite the draining.

Then grease the crap out of everything.

Good luck.
