In a desperate attempt to get people to show up and save Jergans, I am offering $50 worth of pizza and beverages to any club or organization that can show up, Participate and out number representatives of our new 4x4club the RiverCityRockCrawlers at the meeting November 1st in Coloma 6pm.
Oh yea its actually a bet, so if you take me up on the bet and loose, your club might be buying us $50 of grub.

Odds are stacked against me.. we've only been an actual club for a week or 2, we only have 6 core members and its roughly a 120 mile round trip for me.

Can I get credit for all the meetings I've been to in the last year? <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0"> The gubmint won't let me deduct the miles, either, can I get credit on a new set of tires? My commuter car is on its last legs, and flogging it up 80, down 49, and back into Sac on 50 is really hastening its demise...

Yeah, I've got a lot of reasons not to attend. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> Other people do, too; no one else in my club has showed up yet. I've yet to see most of the folks who appear prominently in trail reports on this trail. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

It is pretty sad that so few people are committing to attend meetings... we certainly have no guarantee of winning, but like so many land use situations, this is our battle to lose.

How far away is Jergan's trail from Portland Oregon? I'm guessing its kind of far far my club to represent <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">.

I'll do my best to be there, but with a 2.5 yr old and a newborn, it's tough to get out. It's on my calendar though.

The next scheduled meeting will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2001 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Coloma Odd Fellows Hall which is located at 358 State Highway 49. The group will continue working on the Norton Ravine Planning area.

The meeting is in Coloma at the Odd Fellows hall.

Its at the hard right turn (if you are headed south at 49) just after you go through the state park.

There is prollly a post in land use with better directions, but I'm on a sloooow dialup and too lazy to go look for it right now.

Ok....here's the skinny. Tonights meeting will be soely on the Nortons Ravine area. There will be NO discussion reguarding the Pine Hill Preserve(Jergens) at this meeting.
They did tell me that the next meeting on Wed. Nov.7th the possibility exists that they MIGHT finish up on Nortons Ravine and beguin discussions on the Pine Hill Preserve. I will keep you posted.
As for the $50 bet........bring your wallet. The Pirates plan on showing up for our monthly meeting. We will meet at the Odd Fellows and probally move down to Yosums Pizza in Coloma. See ya all there!

Thanks for the update Vince, at the last meeting we were told if we finish Norton tonight, Nov 1st, we could move on to Pine HIll tonight also...
