We had to notch out the frame for the coilovers to clear.. it also has a CJ hood and grill

i agree, rear truss is nice. what size tubing, and what wall thickness did you use for it?

i'd also like to know more about this upper mount. did you drill a large hole in the frame and just run a sleeve through and weld it. any more pics?

Nice build..........

I'm betting I'd use (read: waste) 30 feet of tube to make that front hood/
grille loop...... although it's only 4 bends, having all of them end up correctly,
and the right angles, etc must take some time......

Every peice of tube I've built (for my personal projects) I've kept a logbook
for calculating degree past bend, final angle, all that stuff......

I might just rather buy a front hood hoop from you guys instead of wasting
(using :) 30 feet of tube when I'm ready.....

I know this is not a hardcore suggestion but when all is done are you going to mount that tire with the back of the wheel facing out? I know its purely aesthetics but can you flip the wheel shiny side out?

Shaffers Offroad
01-14-2008, 04:53 PM
Ya we are going to mount it with the back of the wheel facing out, we couldnt flip it around and mount it since it is a tight fit right now, and the backspacing would be alot different if it were mounted the other way

Shaffers Offroad
01-15-2008, 05:21 PM
Its that time again, more pictures:

the spare tire carrier/bumper is finished, just has to be painted. The front end is being torn apart now and is awaiting the gears ect..

The tire carrier is nice. What are you going to do for the "pins" where it attaches to the top of the tub? Bolts or something else? I also like the the rear cage hoop gusset details.

Can you sell the rear Dana 60 truss in "kit" form, with all the pieces pre-cut and ready to weld on?
