Hey guys,

I'm new to the area and looking for some people to go with on a trip to JV. I'm thinking clawhammer is a good starting point because I've never been there before. Anyway, if anybody is thinking about heading out I would love to tag along.

what am I packin... well normally a .45 acp 1911... as for my rig you don't have to worry about pulling a newb through JV, here is what I've got right now

2000 TJ
4.0 I6
NV3550
Atlas 4-speed
ProRock 60 rear, 4.88, ARB, explorer disks
HP Dana 44 Front(soon to be a matching ProRock 60 in a few months), 4.88, ARB, moser shafts, warn hubs
OBA, OBW, etc...
bumpers, rockers, etc..
warn m8000 winch
recovery gear, tire fix kit, etc...
tires are 35" pro-comps (37" MTRs sitting in garage waiting for a set of walker bead locks)

I've got a trailer and tow rig so if anything happens I can still make it home.

I should be good to go for Claw... I'm a mech. engineer who just moved down here to the area a few months back. I was all signed up for fun in the desert but didn't get a chance to make it due to starting a new job the following Monday. I would just drive out there and run the trail with whoever I can find but my problem is I don't know where the hell the trails start and stop! I found a map of the area with trails marked but it is a overhead shot and I've never been out there before so I kinda want somebody to follow.

If I wasn't busy, I would show you around.
As for your setup, your fine. Definatly don't go out there alone.

You can alway just show up to the lake bed around 8 am and see if a group is out there you can hop in with. Get in touch with the Victorvally 4wheelers. Tin binders is another group that frequents the area.

To bad you weren't out this last weekend, dec 6-8. my buddy and i were by ourselves in our ROCKIN cj5s. we were hoping to find another jeep or two but it didn't happen. we ended up doing Sledge, ClawHammer, Aftershock and Little Johnson. the trails are really fun, but as rugged as i have ever seen them due to the rains and large amount of people from Thanksgiving. good luck to you and try to keep at least one tire on the rocks at all times!! lol :smokin: mickey

I can't wait to get out there and have some fun, I sure hope there isn't water in the lake bed! Now I just gotta clean out the suburban so I can sleep in the back and get a few things done to my rig over my lunch break at work.

Damn, I hate that mud there, I STILL have that shit on my samurai from '03, its impossible to get off!

At least the dust will be minimal.

We had a blast. The trails were roughed up and the weather held off. Rained a little during the night Saturday. We mostly had the place to ourselves.

It was good to meet you Mickey. Hope I put on a good show for you on Back Door!

Thanks........same here!! Yea you guys were cool and the performance showed you not only have a lot of heart, but also can smile through some minor setbacks. Eddie is going to try the waterfall at the end of this season. he says that he thinks that he sees a line for his CJ5 and really thinks he has a chance of making it!! We had a blast. Ya if I hadn't broke the traction bar and spit the front drive shaft out I feel confident I could have made it.:D

You were right. Those rocks are polished smooth. I think I need some stickies.:grinpimp:

Well we made it, waaaayyyy too fawkin cold though, the mud was thick and nasty as usual out there, and the dirt bikers thought it would be a good idea to play in it. haha.
