: no fenders=no support?

I want to remove my front fenders on the CJ5. and like to hear some ideas or see some pics of how y'all support the hood and grill area w/outh the fenders.

Parked ready for movin. Backfiring stopped that monday, when I yanked the heads and found a cracked valve.

Well, it's not a jeep but, my K30 has no fenders. I took some 0.5 schd 40 and welded a nut in one end then welded an extra "fork style" fender shim (has a slot about 2" long so I can adjust) on the other. Sloted end bolted to the cowl using factory top fender hole and bolt. Bolt went through a hole in the fire wall into the nut in the other end. One each side, and they are right under the edge of the hood, barely visible. Zip tied my wires and hood pull along them too till I can get the front rewired...

haha Real simple, Get some square stock about 1 inch in diameter and cut it so it s a tight fit under the grill and weld it in place. Your grill and hood will not move.
