Got an 85 nissan p/u and the headlights just quit working the other night. Now it runs fine but wont idle if you turn the headlight switch on and headlights do not work in any way shape or form. alternator checks out fine and cant find any blown fuses. Battery seems to charge fine and all other power accessories work fine. wtf is up?

Probably the switch, they have a habit of going bad. they run about 80 bucks

Thought about that but I don't see how that would keep the truck from idling properly.
