The Sierra Chapter of NAXJA Donated $1,611 to FOF!

FOF is working on getting to be a non profit organization, NAXJA gave this money to help set that up. Once they become a non profit they can get the big money and be a write off for the companies with the big fat pockets. I am sure Tinman can tell you much better then I can.

Some photos, Bryan gave FOF a NAXJA Sierra Chapter shirt, but I am not sure if Tinman liked it:

One Big Fat Check:

Once he got a beer or two in him he put the shirt on:

Nice Job Bryan C. and the NAXJA Sierra Chapter, good luck to Tinman and the FOF, keep up the good work.

awesome awesome stuff from the Naxja Sierra crew. Thank you so much and we promise to make sure that your money is put to good use. Can't even put to words how much this money means to us and to the cause. Speachless......

Here's to many more years of access!

I am still speachless. Well not totally.:D

One of the hardest things we faced was how do you collect money to do the things like becoming non profit so you can accept TAX DEDUCTIBLE donations? Start up money. I fully understand it's hard for people to just hand over the cash on a hand shake. But that's exactly what the Sierra NAXJA chapter did. To highjack a little we can't forget Bebe (Jacquelyne Theisen) and two of her HUMMER buds (that sounds kind of funny huh?:D) that have already given us 300 bucks!

We now have the resources to really get going and I cannot express our thanks enough. Words just fail me here.

A big bonus to this whole thing is I will never be in danger of getting lost in the wilderness. I intend to wear that shirt on all our runs and it will be impossible to ever get lost since it is visible from space!:grinpimp:

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of this little soiree:D

It was worth the drive to see the dumbfounded look on Bretts face when he actually saw the amount of the check!

NAXJA and BC, you rock!:smokin:

It is great to have the support from so many people!! The donation from NAXJA just blows me away and is going to get put to good use. I appreciate the hard work it took to raise that kind of money and here’s to keeping Fordyce open for generations to come!

I wish you guys the best of luck. The NAXJA Sierra Chapter will continue to support the Friends of Fordyce for many years to come. You got a lot of work to do, and I think we all appreciate your willingness to take that on, I know I certainly do. I also want to thank the members of the Sierra Chapter for their contributions and their generosity in raising this money.

I also want tho thank Bebe for driving 5 hours just to hang out for pizza and beer. She was a big help in directing me to helping the FOF obtain some much needed start-up money.

Second that sentiment about the driving distance. Usually it's me driving for hours to attend trail related functions. Kind of nice to have a 10 minute drive home afterwards!:D

Thanks!

I gotta say I'm proud to be a part of the Sierra NAXJA Chapter and proud to be able to give support to the folks commited to working on Fordyce. Many thanks to everyone for stepping up to get something done. Fordyce is a great trail and it needs those who are commited to keeping it open for everyone. Can't wait to run it next year.

Oh, and those shirts are bad ass. :D

Tinman-
You should set up a paypal account for NON TAXABLE donations so that you can raise the seed money you need to get rolling. Just make it clear that this is non taxable on the receipt and where you click for paypal.

Can you do that without being non profit. Or do you mean after we get that in place. If so, good idea. Remote donation! I like it.:D

He maybe means non-tax deductible. :)

yep, set it up and link it to your signature. I bet you will get some more $$.

I am really glad to see the Sierra Chapter step up to help and continue help what Four Dice and FOF have started. As an NAXJAer that has been out of the hobby a bit for the last few years after my daughter was born, I fully expect to be active with FOF in 08 (assuming rig is finally done).

Yes not tax deductable is what I meant. Amazing how leaving one word out can make a big difference. It would be donations just not tax deductable. You should check with your accountant on how to handle it properly. I believe FOTR was not a non-profit right off the bat. Del might have some insight. But to make FOF work it is going to take money.

Awesome job, NAXJA and FOF. I have great confidence that you all will do the right thing for the trail, and aim to pitch in next year, myself.
