....to get them worked and the "Parts" guy asks what kind of tractor they came from :D

Funny!

The guys who resurfaced my flywheel, the radiator shop, all of them see the size of this stuff and ans what kind of forklift or tractor it came from!

I be the Jeep guys don't have these "problems"

:D I know when the parts guy brought out the thermostat for my FJ60 I had to open the box and look at it because I thought it was the wrong part (huge box)

out rolled a thermostat on steroids about the size of a fist....Dayum.

and they are not really tractor parts, they're forklift parts

I had a u-joint seize on me and I couldn't get it out myself so I took it to a local 4WD shop to be pressed out. They asked what kind of tractor the driveline was from. They didn't believe it was stock Cruiser gear.

The UPS man wanted to know what kind of tractor I had when he dropped off a set of 34x9.50 TSL SS tires.

I have made things worse than all of the above comments by adding HMMWV tail lights and military toggle switches to my rig, along with square tube side rub rails, front, and rear bumper with pintel hook and 1944 tank head light for backup light!

My favorite is when the parts house guy say's "What year and model is your vehicle".....ahh which part? Lot's of Landcruiser stuff from 67-81, then there is the GM stuff from 89-92, oh ya and the Volvo stuff from 88', and...

Yeah or how about when you need a brake line and they ask if you have a 2 or 4 barrel

I'll have to send you photos sometime of me dragging the harrow around with the 60. It is a very modern tractor AC and a CD player make the dirty job very easy and comfortable.

Yeah.. what year (and make) depends on which parts I need...

Off-topic.. was there ever a 2wd FJ-40? I can't imagine there is, but the PARTS GUY at AutoZone always asks if it's a 2wd/4wd. Stupid computer.

never a two wheel version...thank god or there'd be slammed 40's running around.

i had one guy at a toy dealership in st chuck illinois say nice jeep when i went in to ask him about the new (at the time) toy symbol...i got the 80 series sales flyer and showed him a picture of the 45 that was parked next to it and got "i didn't know they made land cruisers back then".

two days later (going in to pick up parts), an older salesman walked up to me right after i'd pulled in and said 'nice cruiser, is that the stock four cylinder?'...i had a 305 with cherry bombs at the time..."uh, yeah".

There was a 2WD Land Cruiser. If you look at an FJ40 parts microfiche, in the axle section they showed a straight axle with no pumpkin next to a regular 4WD front axle.
