I am just finishing off my sas with a dana 44 from a 79 waggy, I used the stock steering and mated it to my trackers pitman after taper reaming it to fit the waggy tre. Now my tracker has the turning radius of a dump truck so I am wondering what the easiest solution is, another pitman? which one will work with my box? or should I go ahead and convert it to power steering and use a box from something with a longer pitman arm? which is the easiest conversion? Thanks.

a saginaw style box is your best bet..... it will take a lot of work to make it fit but it is worth it. virtually endless pitman arms available.

I ran into the same issue with my Toyota box & Dana 44. I'm running cross-over steering so all I had to do was drill (in the high steer arm) the TRE hole for the drag link 2+ inches back which matches the throw of the Toyota pitman arm. Now I can steer lock to lock, I can almost make a u-turn in an alley:D.
You want power steering any way if went through all that work of an sas. I am using a toyota steering box and custom highsteer arms to match the boxs throw.

Thanks Guys, I guess I'll just have to get off my ass and put in power steering, One last quick question what are you guys using for a front drive shaft, I welded the slip and yoke that was with the diff to the yoke for the kick t case but when I flex the truck out it binds at the stock kick tcase u joint. Should I get a cv head for it and which one is the best? Thanks for helping out a newb.
