Do any of you all know if your helmet has to be a certain clearance any from the B pillar? I know it has to be 3-4" any from the roof. Are seat is mounted about 2" behind the pillar, so I'm worried about a we-rock rule i didn't see. If you move hard to the side you can hit your head, but that just where everything ended up working good together.
thanks

I just read through the rules today, there must be atleast 3" clearence in all directions.

Your seat is behind the pillar. If you have done a typical pedal mounting you might not be happy. I had my seat back that far. Everyone called me on it saying it was too far back. It felt great in the garage. First test on a steep incline and I could not reach the pedals. Ended up moving the seat forward 5". See foty507 build towards the end.

ok, I plan on moving the back of the seat even with the pillar.

We always spend a lot of time mocking up the seating, steering, pedals in any car we build. I am super picky about the right "feel" from a car and these contact points are critical. I can't see how some guys drive a rig with their knees bent all the way up or the pedals way off to one side!? Anyone building a rig should take time to do this right the first time DURING the build as it's much easier to make changes at that point.

Your rig is looking good. Very exciting to see some of the East coasters getting finished or near finished!:D

Thats about where I am now. Even witht the pillar. I will be testing today.
Minimal testing behind the house has yielded good results.
