I've seen this demonstrated a few times on DIY tv. Looks pretty cool, it also has an add on base to make it a mini verticle bandsaw.

I've used one of those at work about 2-3 years ago. Battery life didnt seem up to par with the other 18v cordless tools we had at that time. They are very handy for what they are though.

They dont cut very wide or deep compared to a milwaukee deep cut band saw. If it were me i'd spend an extra $100 and get the milwaukee cordless band saw. It's built better, is more versatile and has a better battery life. You can make your own base to use it as a vertical band saw too, or i've seen a couple you can buy online too.

I have tested them at the tool store. What would you be using it for?

I don't really need one...just throwing it out there for discussion. :D

Of course, a 28V Milwaukee will eat it's lunch, but the stx-250 half the cost and weight.
Might be good for the pick'n'pull?

I have a 28v Milwaukee, Yea its a monster. That stout has a really small capacity and I couldn't really see it being useful at the boneyard. An example, it doesn't have enough width to be able to cut a U bolt on an axle, it would probably be about maxed out cutting a shock. It is much lighter and smaller than the milwaukee which is about the same size as their corded units. I think its ideal use for the stout would be cutting conduit or small diameter pipe. When I tested one it looked to me like it used a standard 18v dewalt battery
