I am trying to get my POS together to go wheeling the weekend and I was putting the Stock Ford hubs in my front 60 last night and they wouldn't disengage.

I have searched and verified the order of how they go and I also have an exploded diagram to verify this also. This is a 79 Ford D60.

It seems as though the inner gear is resting on the spindle inside and the outer gear has to be pressed too far in so that the ring that the allen bolts gointo can be placed inside the large snap ring. So, it won't fully unlock. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

I plan on buying new hubs..but it can't happen right now

Leave the inner in the same orientation and rotate the cap clockwise one bolt hole at a time. Eventually you'll find the bolt hole where it operates correctly. You orientate the cap differently to the inner portion and it will work when you get it right.

I had this happen with Mile Marker hubs on my 79 F60 front. Don't know why it fixed the problem, but it did.:D Let me know if this fixes it.
