Been this way for a while....

Hopefully, all the "glass half full types" saying when this war is over ammo prices will come back down to "reasonable" pricing are correct. Please oh please let them be correct....

:D

The ammo has shipped. 1000 rds of Wolf 308 for $280ish shipped. This crap has jumped to $410 + shipping. I kick myself for not buy a truck load of good mil surplus ammo back in 2000-2004.

Cost of metals and fuels is the most direct cause of ammo prices. Not saying that the GWOT isn't having an effect, but the "war ending" isn't going to effect prices.

Eh, it might. If Lake City is sitting on a mountain of surplus it's going to drop in price.

Massive amounts of surplus is about the only way we will see cheap ammo again. Just keep hoping NATO switches from 5.56/7.62 to 6.8mm.

Not so fast. Ole Billy Bob signed into law that we peons can not be sold surplus ammo, we have to buy demilled ammunition as components. I do not know if that affects the importation of ammo from other countries though.

Well maybe we can export it to other countries and then re-import it...

Canadia isn't that far of a drive.

Maybe, but Lake City ramped up small arms ammo production to 1.2 billion rounds and might even go up 1.7 billion rounds. That's got to have some effect...

Cabela's? I hit them up for a deal at about the price you got right before Christmas. They sent me an e-mail with the new prices a few weeks ago. I was stunned.

Gawd Dayum!

Let's see.....divide by 4, carry the 2, subtract $10 from each pack....

I'm guessing that ammo sold for $75,000-$80,000 if he's picking it up.
