I remember a while back finding a post about a guy that put 2.5 ton rockwells under his CJ-7, he had some pretty cool pictures. Anybody know the URL? I lost it...

2.5ton rockwells are gay! IMO if you are breaking alloy dana44 shafts you WILL break those shafts. R&P- yep they're stout but the stock shafts just aren't up to snuff. Just under 1.75" but coarse spline, and the wrong metal. I've got a broken inner shaft I will try to post a pic of when I get it cleaned up. It's been sitting in my yard for a while. Alloy 35 spline=done.

I dont give sh!t how strong they are I just wanted to see some pics of them under some Jeeps. But if you want to get into strengths, I highly doubt a Dana 44 is even reasonably comparable to a 2.5 ton rockwell, whether it be axle shaft strength or housing. Still waiting to see some pics guys. thanks!

Thanks for the pics! Those are pretty cool but different from the ones I was refering to, the ones I remember where on a brown and yellowish CJ-7, the pictures where of his jeep in a garage while he was swapping them in.

Hey snipes, i am currently swapping in rockwells on my FJ40. And my name is Wes, too. hehehe
I have a couple of questions and comments. I also left the hubs flipped out for more width, all my friends think it's nuts to be 80" wmf to wmf. Do you agree now with your decision to go wider?
Also- where did you get your wheels??
If they are from stockton, how long did it take you to get them, i ordered mine from there in July and still haven't recieved them.
Finally- what did you do for brakes?? I bought the pinion brake kit from Boyce Equip. It's just chevy 1/2ton rotor and caliper with bracketry for the Rockwell carrier. If you bought this also, i would like to know how it worked out, as i have not driven mine yet.

Do you think a 4whl disc brake conversion could be done for ARCA specs?

Any suggestions are appreciated. I will post pics soon when i get my wheels, and the damn thing is rolling around again...

Scott Lenzs aka Brutus. I don't think he has a e-mail his cell phone # is 530 305-2022 or stacey's shop. Stacey can tell you all about the rockwells. He can make you wheel Iam sure and fast.

hey elf cruiser i haven't seen you on the board in a while. i got my duece and a half at the house. thanks for all the info you shot me on the axles when i was looking. for rims on mine i have decided to use sprint car wide 5 rims with a 3/8 plate adapter. the rims are cheap and you can drill and torch out a plate adapter real easy or have a machine shop cut them out. it seems to be way cheaper than having a set from boyce made up. i still haven't come up with a 454 but it won't be long. mike

here what a jeep looks like when you break a coilover and a 35 spline axle. You use the broke axle to hold up your jeep.
