I have heard a variety of different stories about what knuckles can be used on the super duty high pinion 60. So what fits?

Ford bj 60?

Ford TTB50?

Others?

Yes, I searched. That is why I am posting this. No one agreed.

I would see what dedenbear has to offer. They have new inner and outer c's available.

I am trying to avoid spending that much. I don't mind the ball joints, I just want to lose the unit bearings and metric bolt pattern.

I can't say for a Ford front, but when I converted a unit bearing Dodge front to tapered roller bearings it grew about 6" wider. Just a heads up for you. After all the screwing around I think I should have left it alone and wheeled it as it was, but it works fine now.

Spend the Money...we've busted 3 sets of stock knuckles,. went Dedenbear, problem solved....the high steer tears the crap out of them,...there's nothing like being out in the middle of BFE and bust the shit out of your knuckles..or break a C.....L

6"?!?!?

We did the same on a couple buddy's 94-96 Dodge's and its *maybe* 3" wider total. Like 1.5" per side. Negligible really - as Dodge seems to match the front & rear track pretty close from the factory (GM and Ford tend to keep the front track wider than the rear.)

As for the orginal poster, Solid Axle makes a BJ60 knuckle that takes GM/Dodge spindles & brakes - plus allows for highsteer. Ford or Dodge BJ60 knuckles should work on a Superduty housing also. (unconfirmed).

The Ford and Dodge BJ60 knuckles should work without issues as well as the SD knuckles. I have not actually bolted all the different combinations together, but the older Dodge and Ford knuckles use the same ball joints and IIRC the SD knuckles do too. My dad's SD and my Dodge look to have the exact same inner C so it should work.

I'm going to have to check out the Solid Axle knuckles now and see what they look like.

What I have heard (have not had a chance to try it out myself) is that the stock D60 spindles can be redrilled to match the SD knuckle pattern. Then the hub and everything else bolts right on. The stub shaft would also have to be changed to the D60 stub. Again no experience with this, so it may not work at all, but you might be able to try it for cheap.

That line of thinking works on the Dodge. My observation is the center of the SD knuckle is pushed out much further. Any attempt at a spindle would need to have significant 'reach' through the knuckle to properly seal and support a standard stub shaft.

check out spider trax's web site, you can get any pattern you want on a new set of unit bearings. I know it does not get you away from the units but its a cheap and easy fix for your bolt pattern prob.

i have done this on my 99 super duty i used 97 f350 knuckles and steering off the 97 as the super duty steering is tapered the opposite way and u will have to move the trac bar bracket as it will be the way of the steering i have aset of rear hubs for the 10.5 rear end that have the standard bolt pattern on them i have done this on two f250 and an excursion
