Can you give a little more info?

All 4.3/5.0/5.7 TBIs have the same bore size. The only difference is the size of the injectors.

There was a TPS design change around 90-91 when they went from the flat 3 wire to the round connector but either will work with the right connector.

There will be small difference's in the throttle cable connections.

So what part of the application are you referring to.

well the engine is in a toyota truck so throttle cable doesn't apply, and I need the entire throttle body assembly (don't have one at all), but i don't know if when they started using the 4l60e transmission in '93 if a earlier throttle body will work

The engine came out of a '93 2500 4x4 cheyenne
i am using the 5.7 engine, 4l60e transmisson, and the complete wiring harness and ecu all out of the same vehicle, but the throttle body is junk completely corroded and frozen up (and apparently they are hard to find).

oh yeah I do have the injectors that came out of it, they where kept inside while the truck was rusting away outside

The TBI was used on millions of cars and trucks. So take the old one to a pick and pull and match it up.
Getting one from a 5.7 would be best.
The alternative is simply typing TBI in the search window of EBay. Guaranteed to bring up all you need.
The tranny doesn't really have anything to do with it.

yeah salvage yards in this area suck, I went to 3 that had them on car-part.com the first I waited an hour and a half for some guy to come back from lunch after i called them and told them i was coming when he finally showed up (apparently the other 6 guys couldn't help me) a 5 min trip into the yard they figured out that they sold the 3 they had...fuckers, then one wouldn't separate the throttle body from a "good running engine" for anything less than $160, and another told me $50 on the phone but when i showed up he wanted $150...dick. nice hour round trip I could have spent working on my truck.

I have never actually gone to the yard for any car-part stuff. Never lived close enough, but have had very good luck having stuff shipped to me.

The 89 will probably still have the flat 3 wire TPS connector so check it with yours first.
You will have to splice on the other connector if they are different.
Your 93 is probably the round connector. And no you can not just swap the TPS.

This is the older flat connector
