i've been looking for a project and bought a '98 chev with a bad engine, so i've been thinking about what to do with it. i dont get to wheel very often so i'm not looking to drop the big bucks, when i do get out usually its a trip to sand lake or florence oregon. i was thinking that i would get some four inch spindles for it. that should be plenty of height for what i want to do, but i've been thinking about cuting the a-arms up adding two inches and then completely boxing them... is this completely stupid or what are some other ideas.

i used to have a built jeep when i was in college that was always in trails and on the rocks, but now its been gone and it seems i mainly go to the dunes but suspensions for the sand i still havent gotten much experiance with.

thanks for the ideas and help

check out www.dezertrangers.com

you'll find plenty of info on A arm kits and homebrew editions.

I'd say, if you were gonna build your own, i'd make everything proportionally larger. Like, if you extend the lower A arm 2 inches, proportionally extend the upper the same amount.

i'm thinking about building an A arm kit for my DD dakota

CST spindle with Heimed upper should be good. Get some good coil springs and shock combo up front and a Deaver setup with nice shock out back.

Should ride nice and work for what you need.
