When do YJ's typically start breaking?
I have a samurai and i am going to be running yota axles, with 36's, 5.29's and a 4.9:1 tcase but only a 1.3 engine.
I think i am going to be running 5 leaf YJ's in rear. I plan on building a track bar since i already have wrap with 31's and yj's.
I run rocks and general trails.
Should i tear apart my front yj pack and make a hybrid pack? I think this setup would be to stiff for the tubed rear of my light sammy.
THanks guys.

with a track bar i wouldnt be worried about breakage in the rear, and i think typically yj springs bend when setup with the shackle in front, ive been easy on mine, but with 1tons and 38's (new setup) i will be hammering out a shackle reversal come spring before the build is over.
nice thing about yj springs is they are everywhere for free or cheap and you can bring spares with you, and stockpile them if you are breaking them. otherwise if you are happy with the yj springs, upgrade to alcans for a better spring with great performance.

Well i am going to be using 2wd toyota pickup rear springs up front. They are 48 inches long with a 7 inch offset pin. I will be using them to stretch the front a bit.

ive got those in the front of my jeep currently awaiting some trail time when the build is finished come springtime. be sure all the leafs are in good shape, and again, im not a big fan of shackle in front, i dont think it allows the spring to flex with an obstacle, so much as it forces the spring to do certain things, thereby causing the springs to bend. just something to keep in mind. i know im always hearing about people in leaf sprung jeeps bending fronts and not rears, conversely, toyota guys with shackle in back setups front and rear, or jeep rear springs, only seem to get bent when gettin it in reverse.
