How do I string a compound? i dont have a bow press. Can I do this without one? I've been on google for the past 2 hours trying to find a diagram.

Thanks for any help.

BTW the bow is a Parker Spitfire.

I would either fab up a bow press or take it to someone with a bow press. That is a lot of stored energy and if you do it wrong you may break the limbs.

Take it to a bow shop and have them do it. Not worth risking life and limb. No pun intended. You can crack the limbs or leave a hell of a mark (all over) if the string comes undone. FWIW

I have done it with a ratchet strap and some tubular nylon before. It will work just make sure its in a good spot or you may be picking splinters of composite out of your face

I pretty much did this with tubular nylon through the bow split in a hitch/prussic with a ratchet strap in the gap

Well I tried the ratchet stap trick, and it worked great, but I put my sting in there bass ackwards. and cant for the life of me figure out the right way to do it. I think tomorrow I'll just take it to the local bow shop.

I worked in a archery shop my senior year of highschool. Sometimes fixing people's fuckups was hilarious and awsome, most of the time it sucked. Probably the worst was a guy who somehow strung his new-ish mathews incorectly and when he tried to shoot it, the string came out of the track and canted the cam sideways, thus knocking a prety good size piece out of the limb. That was NOT warrantied

You can do it yourself but be very careful. A ratchet strap would work, but like everyone else said, you are better off taking it to a place that services bows
