I was wondering if anyone makes a 38 / 357 semi auto pistol. My dad has a nice 357 revolver but I don't know if I have ever seen that gun in a semi auto. Thanks and sorry for my ignorance.

Here is a quick search.

My uncle has one, it shoots nice. It is a big gun.

springfield makes an XD in 357 but I doubt you can put 38 through it

Look for something in .357 Sig, if you are adamant about having something chambered in .357. personally, I'd suggest going the beaten path of 9mm or .40 S&W.

That's in 357sig, not the same as .357 revolver caliber.

Desert Eagle is the only one that I have seen. And you can't run a .38 through a .357 semi auto.

Personally, I think revolver calibers should stay in revolvers and auto rounds should stay in autos.

The .357 Sig is a good round, but I've heard that it has a tendency to over penetrate. It's essentially a necked down .40 case with a .357 slug in the end. Smaller cross section on the front, and more power on the rear. Good for punching through heavy clothes and winter wear.

I know that Alameda County, CA Sheriff's Dept, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Rhode Island State Police, Virginia State Police, Federal Air Marshal Service, and the Secret Service have all used this round at one time or another, and may still be using it today.
