this is kind-of a long story so i will make it short. i ordered the super short SYE kit for my 231C. i thought i was getting a JC conversions unit so i could reuse my speedo sensor. well the company i ordered from (who will remain nameless) sent me the kit for a jeep. i went ahead and installed it after this company said there is an adapter to make my speedo work with the jeep unit. after i installed everything, i come to find out there is no adapter to make the speedo work. so now the company knows they screwed up and is willing to fix it. they want to send me a JB conversions SYE kit and me to send back the taraflex kit. the problem is i dont want to pull the tcase again and have to re-seal everything. so my question is, can i wire the 231J electric speedo to work with the factory 231C speedo unit?? the 231J has a 3 wire connecter and my factory speedo connector has a 2 wire connector. can you guys help me out so i dont have to pull my tcase appart again??

Do it right...pull the case, install the correct kit and send the other kit back. Sounds to me like they are willing to make it right. They won't pay the labor portion but just think...you will be pretty good at tearing down and reassembling that 231.

I can't answer your question on the VSS.

I agree. Besides, the GM sensor is probably much more easy to find and cheaper...for future maintenance. Tearing down a 231 is easy.
