What axle came from the factory under an '87 F250 4x4 Diesel?
I am a Toyota guy trying to help find an axle for a buddy to swap under his rig. He needs a D44 HP. The guy that is parting the F250 has no idea what axle it is and is not too helpful.

That would be a TTB set up. Which isnt a straight axle. Its either a 44HD or 50 Housing.

no. ford jumped around a lot with the solid axles. early (pre 80s) were solid front... 80+ was TTB unless its a 350... up until the super dutys. there is a bunch of other odd balls, but that would take forever.
so no, it would be TTB.

1980-1986.5 was TTB for ALL F-series and Bronco. I made that mistake once with a ebay purchase...
1980-1996 was TTB for F-150, F-250 and Bronco
1986.5-1991 (? not 100% sure maybe 1992) was King Pin HP D60
1992-1996 was Ball joint HP D60
Super Duty was an odd ball, early years could have been D50 or D60 w/ metric lug pattern depending on SRW or DRW.
After the first couple of years they all went Metric D60.

do some searching...there is no need for this post.:shaking:
some HD f-250s had SFA up front but there is a really easy way to tell....look.
I have seen a ~80s 6.9 crew cab f-250 with SFA.

WRONG!!! Only F-350's from 80-97 had a SFA. F-150, F-250, Broncos, Rangers and Exploders had TTB front ends. Didn't matter HD, Diesel, BB, SB or I-6, unless it was a 1 ton, you got the TTB. I have a HD F-250 CC SB Diesel, so I know first hand.

ditto, no 3/4 tons 80-96 came with sfa's from the factory, but there were several companies that converted them for different packages
