Anyone else here hunt with a flintlock? It's finally season here in PA, and I finally got mine out of the gun safe (T/C Hawken). My Dad is sporting his first self-built Pennsylvania Long Rifle. He started from scratch with a block of wood and worked it down. It sports a Green Mountain barrel, and he made almost every brass piece on it. :smokin: He estimated about 200 hours on it. It must be nice to be retired.

And for you pussies with percussion rifles. :shaking: :flipoff2:

Yup. got my first mule with a .58 flint.
12 years old, first time not being the "dog", fawker ran almost 20 yards after I pulled,(real black powder and rain had bad hang time) blew out the spine at the base of his scull. Dropped in 10 feet.

Lucky shot, but I sure did feel like a man.

few with a center fire (cheating) and then moved on to a string and stick.
