Well the current super dutys have coils, 2wd f250s have coils but no 4wd f250s in the 70s or eighties had coils. 70s f150 did have coils and a straight axle in the front, maybe that's what your thinking of.

FWIW it isn't uncomman to see a 1/2 ton from those years upgraded with 3/4 ton parts, most of the time people put a full floating rear and then swap 3/4 ton stuff on to the 1/2 ton axle so the bolt patterns are the same.

Yeah, look at the vin on the frame.. should start with "F26xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" for a 3/4 ton 4x4 truck.

Hmm, last year for a 4x4 F250 with coils, well, I believe they're building 08's now, first year would be 05... All prior were leaf.

That shows one guy got his facts wrong, or didn't go into enough detail.
Happens all the time.

The guy in that link may be calling that an F-250 because it has 3/4 ton axles, but it is a 1/2 ton frame. The 3/4 ton frame does not have coil buckets and shock towers like that. The have shackles and leafsprings. Shocks go to the axles, not the radius arms.
