hey, what's the differences between a 6 lug and 8 lug D44. there appears to be some difference, perhaps with the rotors, that makes the 8 lug ones about 2" wider ...
can anyone clue me in ?
thanks.

Did you try a search???
The difference is basically this: backing plates (caliper brackets), wheel hub, and sometimes the spindle. I think 78 and up all have the same spindles, but before that you have to get an 8 lug spindle.
Oh - and the axle tube thickness is crap - most all the 8 lug ones are thicker - but some 6 lug ones are thick tubed too.

Are you gonna want to swap to 6 lug stuff, or keep the 8 lug?

the 8 lug hub setup is 1" wider. If you buy a 8 lug and swap down to 6 you'll end up 2"narrower.
