i don't know if this episode is new or a repeat because i don't catch this show very often. this morning on future weapons they showed them shooting the chey-tac m200 intervention .408 out to 2230 yards. even though that guy is a goof ball, this was a pretty good segment. the episode also has the uss san antonio, and the electromagnetic gun.

it definatly gave me extra motivation me to start gathering parts for my next long range rifle. i am sticking with a .338 lapua mag but look forward to making hits out to 1500-1600 yards.

I remember seeing a show in which they were talking firearms advancement back in the early 80s...they showed a prototype rail gun...used an electromagnetic rail("U" shaped steel channel with electromagnets on teh outside) that propelled a one lb block of steel encased in a brick shaped piece of plexyglass at near 6KFPS...they shot these bricks thru tank armor at over a mile...never heard any more about it...sounds like a cool idea if you have the power to run the mags...

i'll probably have to go out to nevada to find something like that. the trees are to thick around here to get out that far.

They will not sell an M200 to a civilian. Bastards:mad3:

Not real sure why not. There are differences in barrel length between the
M200 and Civi versions. I'm sure they have some propriety features that they don't want availible to pubic knowledge. I despise companies that sell products to military or LEO only, even if there is no legal requirment or obligation to do so. Neat rifle though.
