: 5.3 flywheel help

i am trying to bolt a 2004 5.3 vortec to a 350 turbo trans.ive got the stock 5.3 flywheel and stock 350 converter.ive also got a spacer from gm but it seems to cause the flywheel to stick out too far??what am i doing wrong?
is there anyone who can help?

thanks in advanceYes, the spacer goes on the end of the crank and then you put a 6.0L flexplate on. A standard 5.3L flexplate will not work with the spacer. There are also longer bolts that you should get from GM for the 6.0L/crank spacer combo to bolt to the crank flange.

But, you might trying bolting it like this and see if it will work with the 5.3L flex plate. The only reason for the spacer is to support the Torque converter.

But I have never done it like this I have justed used the 6.0L plate.

I did mount up an older 4L60E to a 5.3L using the 5.3L flexplate and the spacer like shown in the picture. You will have to elongate the torque converter mounting holes.
