no the odds are not 40K to 1 on having the right key... I have a set of 9 keys for the pre 67 GM trucks and I have not found one yet it would not fit. From what I have seen thrue the years is there are only a few codes that are used . When I was young I was into bugs and there was only 21 keys for them from 1955-1968. P.S. I have the ignition switches for the GM`s but how do I get the F***ing doors open with out spending 10 min with the the wire. and even after I get in there is now way to get the swithes out of the 73 and new ones with out F***ing every thang up if you don`t have the right key..... Ya,YA,YA, I now run some wire and crawl under with the screwdriver but some of them I well be selling and I want to keep my F***ing screwdrivers

Uhh no I think the odds are a lot better than that, I mean I have seen at least 20 posts like this and we have ~12.5k members.. so I would say the odds are at least 1:500, but prolly more like 1:20 :D
