: TOTAL POSSER ramp shots!! (pics)
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 06:30 PM Well I have finished the front arms and shock set up and it seams to work well (but could be better) for non-wristed arms or three/four link. Also I had the NV4500 built and built a new cross member but the tranny mount has already seperated (I used the type for a turbo 350) any ideas on if the make a better mount?
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 06:31 PM The rear is just 3 1/2" 11 leaf nationals and spring pivots. Works pretty good.
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 06:32 PM More.
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 06:33 PM New tranny mount/ skid.
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 06:33 PM .
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 09:36 PM .,
Beautiful Bronco, rokcrln. Looks like a lot of hard work went into it. :smokin:
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 10:50 PM Thanks, Yes alot has gone in and lot more to go. Next is a wristed arm and then an EXO-cage to keep it looking this nice. My last one did not do real well!
Jeez man, that looks nasty. Any casualties?
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 11:10 PM No just some acks the next day. My cage held great and me and my ex-brother in law were fine. We took a wrong trun at about 35mph and launched 30' then end overed.
rokcrln 06-29-2002, 11:13 PM This was it a few days before!
is this the same bronco or is a totally different one?
never mind, I figuerd it out. It's not the same :rasta:
IronBenderII 06-30-2002, 12:05 AM shit, your cage just completely collapsed. Why?
pitter 06-30-2002, 12:08 AM sweet flex, and to bad bout your carnage
Ken Carter / BRUISER 06-30-2002, 05:08 AM Very nice!!!
I was wondering do you have any close up pics of the spring pivots?
Thanks
Ken C
rokcrln 06-30-2002, 07:36 AM Iron bII, The gace did not colapes it is in the sand and that is about a 20* side hill and you see the lower side. The cage did great, it came down in the center spans about 2 1/2" and bent the rest of the EB in half with the force. I will try and find a after pic. I will also find any piviot pics I have ( 1 I think)
rokcrln 06-30-2002, 07:40 AM It is hard to see in these pics but the body lines now run down hill1 1/2 form each end to the center. The door openings are 3/4" wider at the bottom.
rokcrln 06-30-2002, 07:40 AM And.
Nobody 06-30-2002, 08:17 AM Show off!
Nice work on everthing :usa:

Man, that was a nice looking rig! I guess you don't want to hear that now:( The new one is sweet too...It's refreshing to see a clean rig that is capable.
Those rear springs seem to flex real well considering the amount of leaves/thickness of the individual leafs. Did you ever have those springs in place without the pivots? was there a major difference? Looks good:smokin:
rokcrln 06-30-2002, 08:35 AM Nobody, Now its your turn to over turn:flipoff2:
DM, No biggie it was my fault and I hate kicking my own a$$, I am a whimp and I cry alot so I try to avoid it:rolleyes: Also 24 hours before the fun it got shot for the mags and came out as a two pager about 6 months later. It was the last issue of 4x4 power they had!
DM as far as the springs go yes and yes. I rad the same type in my last EB and I put them in this one right a way and then added the piviots. Before the rear would stuff and not rub once they went in I rub all the time ( 3-4" more stuff ) so I just put on the gorella flairs front and back and no more prob.
rokcrln 06-30-2002, 08:37 AM oops
How do those pivoting spring percheswork? Is there any bad side effects? Would you do it again?
rokcrln 06-30-2002, 11:34 AM You get a little sway when hard cornering and yes I would do it again!! I need to get my a$$ in gear and draw them up on my CAD system and a buddy wants to build some.

Dang small world, i remember seeing that thing parked in your driveway while I was in Dixon for a few summers! Was a Extremly nice bronco. i havent been in dixon for a few years but want to say you lived around h or f street? I know it wasnt to far from pittschool right? Just trying to see how much i really remember about my hometown.
back on topic: Do you plan on running a track bar in the rear? I've seen those pivots allow the rear axle to move sideways a few inches in tough spos
Harvester of Sorrow 06-30-2002, 02:17 PM nice bronco...I like those pivot perches. any extra axle twist though?
rokcrln 06-30-2002, 02:38 PM Hey small penis, Your right it was West F st one block in from Pitt.
Harvest, No I haven't noticed any more than normal, Just a little side to side but even at that it is well worth it.
FULLSIZE 06-30-2002, 02:55 PM i saw that issue with your old bronco in it. you do very nice work. thanks for setting the bar a little higher. i'm going to take that kind of attention to detail for my next jeep.
rokcrln 06-30-2002, 04:34 PM Fullsize, Thank you for noticing. I started out doing work that just worked and then one day my buds dad said that looks like shit and it killed me, So I always strive to meet his quailty ( I'm still short but getting real close). Here is the new tranny mount set up. Just finished it afew mins ago.
joes75bronco 07-01-2002, 09:14 PM rokcrln I sent you an email with some questions... I really like your rig... great job.......
well the email didnt go through.. so I'll do it on here and check back....
I noticed you posted a a pic of your crossmember on pirate4x4... I will have to have one made as well and I was goign to do exactly what you are using. That looks very stout and nice.
What trans and xfer case are you running? what size pipe are you using? how much did it cost? Did you design it yourself and make it yourself, or did a 4x4 shop do it?
I must also give you props on your shock setup too. Hell for that matter your bronco is what I aspire mine to be. Wonderful job.... let me know about any hitches or conflics you ran into using this skidplate/crossmember setup....
Thank you very much for your time, and keep up the good work on your bronco.
Joe
