: what should the psi be

my truck won't start.it's an aftermarket fuel pump on a 87 gmc 350 tbi.the garage said it's pushing 80-85 psi. what should it be if this is too muc:confused:h.

Im not an expert but im thinking 15psi is all you need. 80 sounds super high multiport EFI only takes like 30psi.

a stock fuel pump gives around 40psi(or should). but the fuel pressure regulator only lets about 13 psi to the injectors.
you might need a pressure regulator before your stock regulator to cut down the pressure to maybe 25psi.
just a thought.

Return the p.o.s. you got and invest in a FACTORY pump. Sounds like you got one for a vortec

this is what the shop in the city gave me and said it mould be fine. i'd still be using the factory pump if i didn't put in a foam filled fuel cell in the bed of the truck:flipoff2:

by getting rid of the 2 tanks (with skid plates and brackets) i dropped well over 100 lbs
