Is it possible to hunt ground sqirels at cow mountain? or hunt anything?

yup, not a whole lot of squirrels around but I've seen a few.

yea i think you can but you cant shoot like withing 100 yards or feet or somthing from the trials or camp grounds... ask a ranger <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

We just pulled a really nice 4x4 black tail out of north cow mountain this eavining. It wieghed in at around 155#. This thing was the biggest i have ever seen up there. As for groung squirrels i have no idea but you can hunt turkeys and stuff like that so idont know why you couldnt hunt squrrels.

Damm, 155# buck in the general Lake county area! In my 27 years I have only seen a hand full of bucks that size, and most of them were on private ranches! Congrats on the big buck, I know that they are out there, just got to have the luck to meet up with them and keep the buck fever to a min!
