Surfing craigslist today and found this. I was thinking about buying it for the box, but really want a cab over box.

Driving by one of the local U-haul lots a while back I saw an over-cab box sitting behind the building. I thought to myself that it would make a good start for living quarters on the front of a GN trailer. If I hadn't already bought a slide-in camper for my trailer, I would have stopped and asked about it. There is no way I could outfit the box with the amenities that my slide-in has for anywhere close to what I paid for camper since I got a pretty good deal on it. But, for someone looking for something bigger than a slide-in, it would make a good head start.

I'm looking for a 14-20ft u-haul or marathon type box right now with the cab over, if you come across another one.

I'm also re-evaluating the small 5th wheel RV and strip the running gear out of it route as well. Which ever route I go, will determine the size GN I have to buy to slap it on top of :)

That box is still sitting there..... if I ever get over this damn bronchitis and make it by there, I can stop and ask about it if you want me to. It is half a country away from you though.

:

Here's a link to some uhaul trucks if that is the direction you're heading. Probably some in your area.

Mechanos, If you come across something a bit closer let me know. unfortunately for hte price of fuel these days I could probably buy a new u-haul for the price of a trip to KC and back. Thanks though, and get better soon ;)

Thanks snook, I've been on u-hauls site several times and they want too much money for their stuff. I need to find one that somone bought and blew up the motor or drivelin and has a good box that wants the truck gone cheap.

I'm actually leaning more towards the 21-25' fifthwheel RV and mounting it on top of a big G/N.... I like the box though cause I can make it any way I want, but in reality I'll camp in an empty box for a while till I get around to it. with the RV it'll be "done" as soon as I mount it.... hell or even just strap it down lol.

Hey, is that U-Haul box still sitting? Any info would be great I've been looking at doing the same thing w/ my gn. Family with youngins need the camper plus I'm tired of pulling an extra jeep on my trailer for guys who don't cough up fuel$$:shaking:!
