The front will bolt right in, but the rear will need new perches welded on.Probably new shock mounts as well.

wtf are you talking about. he can hit any salvage yard and buy bone stock axles from any same vintage 3/4 or 1 ton truck and swap in for less than a grand. the incidentals of spring perches, shock mounts and probably brakes will run 500 so he has done the easiest swap there is for 1500 bux.

Didn't 3/4 ton chevys still use a 44 or 10 bolt, I think you need to go to a 1 ton for a d60 if you want to upgrade the front.

ok so will i be breaking axles with 38's with 3/4 ton running gear. it wont be doing alot of hard rock crawling but alot of trails with logs and shit in the way with some steep hill climbs

3/4 ton running gear for you is going to be either a 8 lug 10 bolt or Dana 44.
Not REALLY an upgrade from the 6 lug 1/2 ton versions.
You could run one of those axles, chromo shafts, CTM u joints, and stay off the skinny pedal when the climbing or wheeling through some rough shit. And you might be okay for a while. Honestly, something will break eventually.
Now, I would recommend finding a Chevy Dana 60 for the front and a Dana 70 or 14 bolt for the rear.
A lot of 3/4 ton and 1 ton two and four wheel drive trucks have the 14 bolt. And are pretty easy and cheap to find.
New perches and shock mounts can be found at places like diy4x.com or sky-manufacturing.com
