With a kid on the way I'm looking to get out of my jeep wrangler(want for doors and a roof). Im kind leaning towards a 4 door rodeo, Im wondering what are the best years, what to look out for the usual stuff a newb should look at for.
Thanks

Congrats on seeing the light :flipoff2:
It depends on what you want to do with the vehicle. I would either look for a
94-97, which would have an Isuzu 3.2L SOHC and standard D-44 rear. Not really any engine mods available.
Or a '98 to '04. The body style changed, which gives you more width and comfort. It changed to a DOHC 3.2 or 3.5L (which has an available Alpine SC), R&P steering, and a modified D44 rear (basically a bit more difficult to regear).
Both options would have the same Isuzu gear driven T-case, a 4L30E or MUA5 trans, Isuzu 10-bolt front IFS, boxed frame.
If you're looking at an auto with higher mileage, service records are a plus. They can be a little problematic if neglected.

Im looking to put a dana 44 out of a grand waggy thats in my back yard under it shortly after getting it. I want to build it to be a DD/weekend offroader. Living in FL doesnt require much. Looking to do a 44 in the front on 35's maybe 36's

Sound's like you've got a good plan. The 3.5L engines are going to be more powerful than the 3.2L. They feature direct injection and obviously larger displacement. But it can really depend on your budjet and ability to find one. Either one of the v-6's would be a good start, unless you would rather have a 4-banger.
